AILAppointment Information - Location Resource

Appears after SCH in SIU and SRM messages. One AIL per location resource required.

The AIL segment identifies location resources required for an appointment, such as exam rooms, operating rooms, or imaging suites. It allows scheduling systems to reserve specific physical locations.

Real-World Context

AIL is how operating rooms and imaging rooms get reserved in scheduling messages. The location code in AIL.3 must match the room codes in the scheduling system. If OR schedules show procedures without room assignments, AIL is either missing or the room code does not match.
