AIG — Appointment Information - General Resource
Appears after SCH and AIS in SIU and SRM messages. One AIG per general resource required.
The AIG segment identifies general resources required for an appointment, such as equipment, special rooms, or materials. It allows scheduling systems to reserve non-personnel, non-location resources.
Real-World Context
AIG carries equipment reservations in surgical and procedure scheduling. In an OR schedule, AIG identifies the specific equipment (robot, scope, laser) needed. If the right equipment is not available when the procedure is scheduled, check whether AIG is being sent to the resource management system and whether those resources are in the scheduling system's resource inventory.
